J D Salinger

The author J D Salinger died today at the age of 91. It's well documented that he lived much of his life as a recluse and wouldn't speak to the media. He was also known for ignoring fan mail telling an agent not to pass any on to him.

Salinger hasn't had any work published since 1965 but will always be famous for A Catcher In The Rye.

A former partner of his said today that while she was with him he continued to write. This could mean that there is work of his that has yet to see the light of day and if there is then it would be interesting to see.

Salinger was brought back in to the spotlight last year after a writer tried to publish a sequel to Catcher. The book wasn't authorised and Salinger was forced to take legal action to stop the books release.

Although he is best known for one book he also wrote Franny and Zooey and Raise High the Roof Beam. Two books containing short stories, one called Nine Stories and the other called For Esme are also available.

Sell your books and Make Money

This isn't a paid to write site but it is book related so I thought that I would include it.

Fat Brain lets you sell your books on their site. All you need to do is put in the ISBN number, this will then tell you how much the item is worth. If you accept this amount then you'll get a postage label which you can print off from the site and then send it to them without the need to pay for the postage fees.

The pay per book varies and the most sought after books pay a higher price.

Payments are made by either cheque or Pay Pal with electronic payments being made straight away and cheques taking up to five days.

Writers wanted at Snipsly

I came across this site today and thought I'd pass it on since it looks like its quite active.

You earn through Adsense revenue. Some people don't like this format and would rather be paid straight out but one thing I noticed about Snipsly is that it's articles have relatively high page views which should turn in to a decent number of clicks on your ads so this site should be worth a go.

The site split ad revenue on a 20/80 basis.  You retain the copyright for all of your articles but they now have article screening installed to stop duplicate articles.
